Be You Virtual Conference 2023

The Be You Virtual Conference is a free 2-day event with a focus on key topics and practical strategies to promote mental health and wellbeing in learning communities. The Be You Virtual Conference is a NESA (NSW Education Standards Authority) and TQI (ACT Teacher Quality Institute) accredited event.

This year, the theme of the Be You Virtual Conference is Building Capacity to Thrive.

All learning communities have the capacity to thrive when resilience is developed, educator wellbeing is prioritised, and diversity is celebrated.

Over the 2 days, we will explore what it means to ‘thrive’, as well as practical approaches to build a resilient, inclusive and thriving learning community.

Subject matter experts will demonstrate how Be You helps educators, leaders and learning communities build their capacity to thrive.

Conference sub-themes:

Resilience – building capacity to recover (bounce back) and thrive
Educator wellbeing – building capacity to flourish
Diversity and Inclusion – building capacity to connect inclusive communities

The Be You Virtual Conference is delivered by subject matter experts from the  Be You  team at Early Childhood Australia, headspace and Beyond Blue, as well as sector experts and educators themselves.

The Be You Virtual Conference, is for educators and leaders working in early learning services or schools, as well as those in pre-service or training. Each session across the two-day event has been designed with our educators and their learning communities in mind.

Conference Program

Day 1: What does it mean to 'thrive'?

Explore what ‘thriving’ looks like and means to different people and in different contexts: self-development principles; how personal growth supports mental health and wellbeing and develops resilience; connections between adaptability and a growth mindset; help seeking and personal wellbeing (educator experience); and connecting and engaging with diverse groups of children, young people and families.

Day 2: Practical approaches for a thriving Learning Community

Discover practical steps educators can take to help themselves and their learning community thrive. Sessions will adopt a more interactive approach where educators can workshop techniques under the guidance and facilitation of subject matter experts.
